New Orleans is a place unlike any other. It’s an old city that the community has kept preserved in the French/Spanish style and it’s packed with history. Just look around at the cobblestone streets, stoops and arches, and the architecture that has held up pretty well over the last couple centuries! A friend’s family lives there and I went to visit to catch up with them and compare the city during different times of the year. For real. Call it a social experiment or what have you. During the summer, it’s blistering hot and packed with tourists. Try getting a table at Galatoire’s or Court of Two Sisters and lemme know how that goes. And the humidity gives you great hair. Kidding.
I went down again in February for the Superbowl and it was pretty crazy – it also happened to be Mardi Gras (and 49ers fans are lunatics) so it was hectic and fun – and way easier to get lots of beads! That was probably my favorite time to go. It was great weather, and the locals are calm. They get rowdy in the summer! I went again this month and I got to take LOTS of pictures. Continue at your own risk…
This is painted on. Painted.
Walk? Don’t walk? I don’t know.
Family BS hah!
Check out the girl to the left. She played the most beautiful melodies.
